Bulgarian Tour 2013.

Some memories of Sofia...

Gazza:
"The away team is back from Sofia!
Most important, a big thanks to FC for suggesting and planning this for us. Didn't seem an obvious choice at the time but it was great!
Is there a downside to Sofia? I don't think we found one (well, maybe the pavements). Cheap, with beer at £1-20 to £1-50 a pint, good and cheap food, lovely compact city, helpful friendly people, including the local hash. Great hotel and staff, who sorted a trip into the mountains for us (snowy walk in temperatures of 70F) and helped with our (some of us) trip to the football. Noisy, passionate and exciting local derby.
Some good photos to come. Who's got the one of Sue U in a compromising position in a bar? Must be sent to Wolfie.
And a new legendary story is born. Clem and the hotel wardrobe. Ask Lunchbox!"

Soprano:
"A thrilling football encounter whilst we were in Sofia. The match started off "quietly" and did turn into a much more exciting game as it progressed. We were all far more enthralled though by the orchestrated singing, banners and flares of the fans than the initial game of football!. I particularly enjoyed it when a huge banner of 'Mr Levski - a Bulgarian nationalist much loved and executed in 1873 - appeared top to bottom covering the Levski fans with him wearing angel wings!! These two sets of fans are 'notorious' and it is called 'passion'. Den and I heard there was some trouble before and after the game, but we all disappeared quickly into yet another local bar!
Yes indeed, Gazza, it was a wonderful weekend and I would personally like to thank the FC for his arrangements. It was my first 'foreign away weekend' with the Hash and I am looking forward already to next year and another 'passionate' football match!"
